Our founder, Jim Cassidy, has been active in the cruise business since 1991, and has sailed on many cruises. He realized there was a need for a single site where cruisers can research all of their best sightseeing tour and activity options for each port of call.
The cruise lines offer their own excursions, but usually at a premium cost, and with limited options. They also try to scare you into thinking that you have to buy your tours only from them, or you’ll be somehow left at the port waiving goodbye to your ship. That simply is not true. You have far more excursion options, and all of our excursion suppliers guarantee to get you back to your ship on time.

Jim Cassidy has worked for some of the largest cruise lines and cruise agencies in the world, including Princess Cruises, 1-800-CRUISES, Travel Services International, Airtours, MyTravel, National Leisure Group, WMPH Vacations (iCruise.com, CruiseCheap.com, AlaskaCruises.com), Arrivia, and Avoya Travel.
He started both ShoreExcursion.com & ShoreExcursions.com as a marketplace for independent shore excursions, giving cruisers a convenient site to find more tour options. He established partnerships with some of the largest shore excursion companies in the industry, including Shore Excursions Group, Venture Ashore, Viator, and Project Expedition.
